You came to the right place if you are looking for skyscan 1076
There is a search box on the right to find more about skyscan 1076

Is it just me, or is a “hand-held lightning detector” skyscan 1076 an invention that you wouldn’t use either?

Nah I wouldn’t!

There is a broken wire (open circuit) going to the outdoor temperature sensor. Look for a kink or a small pinhole in the wire going to the outdoor sensor — that’s probably where the break is. If the wire is perfect from the clock to the sensor, then the break is inside the sensor itself, or inside the clock..

Problem with those antennas is that they are antennas trying to compromise and get you maximum usable frequency spread from a small antenna.I’m like the rest and recommend the bigger Skyscan DXV1300 (I googled each antenna.. the first has better looks but the discone is bigger and I find with them are real good at reception from my experience)Nothing will really give you a good reception of the HF band short of an antenna made for HF such as a homemade dipole. Most of my friends actually have multiple scanners and homemade beams cut for the frequency of what they are looking for (a lot of the police in my area in the US are on 800MHZ) .. but most run the discone for all around listening above 30 MHZ and will run a seperate antenna for HFI know this doesn’t help, but hopefully gives some ideas.

DST should be automatic if the Time Zone on the unit is set correctly (older models may also have a DST button or switch). It should sync within 2 days as it auto searches for the time signal in the early morning hours. You can force a synchronization by pressing the WAVE button. If you don’t see the signal search icon oscillating on the display, move the unit to a window with an unobstructed display of the southern sky. Also, the time signal is usually stronger at nighttime.

I bought one and I am less then thrilled with it. I have to place it on a outside wall for it to change times. When it is in it normal interior wall, it can not sense the signal. I am on the far east coast, that may be the problem.

Make sure it is picking up the radio signal. The antenna tower symbol should show curved lines above it. If not then try to find a better place to position the clock. You can find the manuals here: http://skyscan.info/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=14&Itemid=40From the web site:Daylight Savings Time ends on November 3, 2007. Your clock should change itself automatically. If not, all you need to do is place the clock in a window facing Colorado and allow 24 hours for it to catch the signal. If you observe Daylight Savings Time, please make sure your clock has the DST function turned ON. If you are still having problems, please check our FAQ page.✩

I think that signal comes out of Denver. I have had several and enjoy the accuracy. Forget what that other guy said. All of mine have had a two minute synch time. If you fail to get a grip on the signal in that amount of time, you have to reset and start over. You may have to try different placements. I don’t know why but once you get a synch the unit won’t lose it if you move it around, as much as it looses it on initializing.
